What Events have I been that made me go to, why did that intrege me to go?
Activity - In Pairs
Pair up with another classmate & discuss some events that you have attended/participated in and ask the following questions:
- State/explain what and where the event/s was/were.
1. Village Market - At The Pantry/South Alive
2. Magic the Gathering Pre-realeased - At Gamers Revaltion
It was a pre-realease/tournament of the new Magic set, Theme of the new set cyberpunk, with ninjas and samurais.
- Why the event/s was/were memorable? This can be good and/or bad.
1. I helped my mum out selling second hand goods and chatting to the locals, asking what they do, etc.
2. I got 5th place out of 16 people, and my last match I versed a postive player and complimented my deck building.
- Anything in particular that stood out about the event organisation either as an attendee, participant, or volunteer?
2. The most memorable was that the community was actually the one running it and help those in need. The shop attenants didn't do anything with it. There were promo cards to enter and promo cards to get a placing (first place got 3, 2nd-8th got 2, 9th-16th got one).
- Where there any terrible experiences?
2. Some of the players were a bit salty when playing.
Then report what your classmate has told you to the rest of the class!
Jessica Event:
Type of Event: -Dragons Den - Market Day for Enterprise Class Where: -Southland Girl's High - Theater Room Why the Event was memorable: - I impressed the judges with my sales skills and got a brand new award for best seller of the day. -Our Stall got third best product from all the stalls. Event Organistaion: - A lot of people hide behind their designated stalls, but not always interact with the customer themselves. Body language open and approachable. Where there any terrible Experiences: - As both an atendent/volunteer it was quiet hastle getting all the stalls up in a way that was eye catching, and easy to access. The amount of people that came to event were little, so it could've been more widley advertised beside the school community.
Additional Event:
I also remember the event that I went to Auckland, Markiplier Your Welcome Tour.
It was memorable as it was my first time traveling out of south island without my parents. I also got to go on stage to play a game with Mark and his friends. Wade (Mark's Friend) was so sweet on stage, I broke my golden freddie bag and he thought he broke it, he was so sweet.
Terrible experience: My brother, it was hes 16th birthday present and he complained that we didn't get VIP pass and he didn't get on stage. Wasn't grateful that he got to go.
Shone & Parry define special events as being,
“that phenomenon arising from those non-routine occasions which have leisure, cultural, personal or organisational objectives set apart from the normal activity of daily life”.
